Founded by two brothers the day after the Beatles first played the Ed Sullivan show, Harbour has been playing Classic Rock since before it was “classic.” As Kansas City’s longest-standing classic rock band, they are the real deal. More than just a tribute band, Harbour has been playing the hits of bands like The Animals, The McCoys, and The Rolling Stones, since they began flooding the WHB-Kansas City airwaves in the early 60’s. And Harbour doesn’t just play the classic songs, they recreate them, capturing the authentic sounds, melodies, and harmonies of the original artists, down to every detail, including using vintage amps and instruments from the period. Harbour’s The History of Rock and Roll Show has the look, sound, and feel of the legendary performers.
Harbour’s show is high energy and performance-oriented, with each member playing multiple instruments, changing throughout the performance and sometimes even during the same song. The songs are selected from the top ten hits from the 60’s and 70’s, that invoke the memories, feelings and experiences of the Baby Boom generation from the birth of rock and roll and the British Invasion through Motown and the Summer of Love. These are the artists that defined the music of a generation. Dylan, The Beatles, The Guess Who, Three Dog Night, Paul Revere and the Raiders. The songs you grew up to; the soundtrack of one of the most turbulent and resilient times in history. Many of the original artists are gone, but Harbour’s show breathes new life into their music, recreating it for the generation that lived it and revitalizing the songs for their children to experience.
Harbour plays extensively throughout the Kansas City Metropolitan area at the city’s premiere venues, rock shows, festivals, public and private events. And perhaps because of Harbour’s devotion and the energy and enthusiasm they bring to their faithful renditions of the greatest rock music of all time, Harbour has been voted Best Band in the Northland for the last two consecutive years.
